In the process of preparing the 50 year anniversary of the BIM vereniging (half a century ago, this lobby/community of improvising musicians started the now famous BIMHUIS in Amsterdam), stichting Here and Now got involved through BIM member Thomas Johannsen to support the funding applications for this unique project. We received 38.000 Euro from the Fonds Podiumkunsten that will be used in the BIM50 production, financially overseen by the BIMHUIS administration.
BIM50 is a tour with intergenerational bands of new combinations of BIM members (playing at Bimhuis Amsterdam, Tivoli Utrecht, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, Lantaren/Venster Rotterdam, Oostpoort Groningen) plus the ‘improvisation on location’ programme “BIM in de Wijk”.
